2026 Season
Masters Tournament
Earned his 30th PGA TOUR title (tying Horton Smith for 16th all time) and sixth major championship (tying Nick Faldo, Lee Trevino, and Phil Mickelson for 12th all time) as he successfully defended his title at the 2026 Masters Tournament. Converted the largest 36-hole lead in Masters Tournament history (six strokes) into a one-stroke victory over world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, marking the third major championship since 1986 in which the two top finishers (in either order) were the No. 1 and No. 2 players in the Official World Golf Ranking (2002 U.S. Open/Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson; 1991 Masters Tournament/Ian Woosnam and Jose Maria Olazabal). Followed Jack Nicklaus (1965, 1966), Nick Faldo (1989, 1990), and Tiger Woods (2001, 2002) as the fourth player in history to successfully defend their title at the Masters Tournament. Shared the 54-hole lead with Cameron Young and improved to 6-for-8 converting 54-hole leads/co-leads into victory in major championships. Closed in 1-under 71, overcoming a double bogey at the par-3 fourth and notably making back-to-back birdies at the par-3 12th and par-5 13th. In the second round, built a six-stroke lead after a 7-under 65 which featured nine birdies, his most in a single round at a major championship (previous: eight/2014 PGA Championship/R1).
