    Doug Barron closed with a bogey-free 67 on Sunday to win the PURE Insurance Championship at 12-under 204 by one stroke over World Golf Hall of Fame member Vijay Singh, moving up to No. 16 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings after starting the week at No. 23.

    Doug Barron, 71-67-66 – 204 (12 under)

    • The 56-year-old earned his fourth win on PGA TOUR Champions (117 starts) and his first since the 2024 Regions Tradition.
    • Earned his first win of the 2025 season (22 starts)
    • Matched the largest final-round comeback of the 2025 season (four strokes)
      • Previous instance: Steven Alker (Cologuard Classic), Steve Allan (Boeing Classic)
    • Fifth top-five finish this season and first since finishing T2 at the American Family Insurance Championship in June
    • Making his sixth appearance at the PURE Insurance Championship Impacting First Tee, his previous best finish was T3 (2024).
    • Birdied the final three holes to overcome a four-shot deficit and win, after starting the final round T7

    Miscellaneous notes

    • After a T3 in last year’s PURE Insurance Championship and 21 years removed from his 2004 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am victory, World Golf Hall of Fame member Vijay Singh finished second at 11-under 205, his best finish in 11 starts in the event.
    • Highlighted by nine birdies in the final round, Retief Goosen closed with a 7-under 65, the low round of the tournament, to finish T3 at 10-under 206. This is his fourth top-three finish of the season (19 starts).
    • The 36-hole co-leader Steve Alker (T3) bogeyed his final hole en route to even-par 72; marks his seventh top-three finish of the season (18 starts) as he remains No. 3 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
    • Mike Weir, who held a share of the 36-hole lead, carded a 3-over 75 to finish T9 for his first top-10 finish of the season (15 starts).
    • The PURE Insurance Championship Impacting First Tee included 80 First Tee members from 48 U.S. chapters who were paired with, and mentored by, PGA TOUR Champions players and amateurs from the business world. To be selected, juniors were measured in both golf proficiency and life skills knowledge.
    • The top 24 First Tee Juniors (12 male and 12 female) after 36 holes advanced to the final round at Pebble Beach.
    • Jake Smaron (Y.E. Yang) and Julio Rodas-Rhim (David Bransdon)earned the win in the boys division, finishing at 16-under 200, while Margaret Kerr (Steven Alker) took the crown in the girls division at 18-under 198.
