Prepped at Bishop Feehan High School in his hometown of Attleboro, Massachusetts. Davis and his older brother, Patrick, led Bishop Feehan to a team state title in 2015. Davis, a junior, won the individual state title, while Patrick, a senior, finished second individually.

Graduated from Notre Dame with a bachelor's degree in Film & Television.

Three-time Korn Ferry Tour winner and 1999 PLAYERS Championship runner-up Scott Gump was an assistant coach at Notre Dame for four of Chatfield’s five seasons at Notre Dame (2017-21). Chatfield cited Gump as one of the main reasons he went to Notre Dame, saying, “He recruited me and was one of the first coaches to come out and actually watch me play golf. We always thought on the same wave length, and I continued to learn from him.”

Grew up on a 9-hole golf course in his hometown of Attleboro, Massachusetts (Highland Country Club) and frequently walked onto the course and stayed there all day.

Learned how to play golf at The Links at Mass Golf, a par-3 course where his grandparents dropped him off and picked him up whenever he wanted.

Frequently attended the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston and remembers meeting Anthony Kim and Kevin Streelman inside the ropes there.

Massachusetts sports fan -- Boston Bruins (NHL), New England Patriots (NFL), Boston Red Sox (MLB), Boston Celtics (NBA) -- but also enjoys rooting for teams who are fun to watch.

Favorite athletes include Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, as well as NFL wide receivers Jaylen Waddle, Justin Jefferson, and Davante Adams.

Grandfather, Art Chatfield, was a World War II veteran.

Played five seasons at University of Notre Dame (2017-22), earning a 2022 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team selection as a fifth-year senior.

Reached the quarterfinals of the 2021 U.S. Amateur Championship at Oakmont Country Club, reached the Round of 16 at the 2020 U.S. Amateur Championship at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, and reached the Round of 32 at the 2018 U.S. Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Broke the school record for career scoring average (among those with completed careers), posting a 71.63 scoring average across 120 career rounds at Notre Dame.
