Multi-sport athlete at Jesuit High School, spending more time focusing on basketball than golf, until the summer before senior year, when priorities shifted. Went on to finish second in the Junior World Championships and fourth at the AJGA Juniors that summer, turning the heads of top college recruiters.

Signed to play with the University of Arizona and was an integral piece of the team's 2021 Pac-12 Championship title team, marking the Wildcats’ first conference title in 17 years. Arizona followed that with a NCAA Regional Championship a year later, where he finished as the runner-up and propelled the program to a return to the NCAA Championship.
