Amateur Highlights

Finished No. 3 in the 2024 PGA TOUR University Ranking after five seasons at University of North Carolina, earning Korn Ferry Tour membership for the rest of the 2024 season, as well as an exemption for Final Stage of 2024 PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry.

Played five seasons at University of North Carolina (2019-24), where he earned three collegiate victories (NCAA Regionals in 2022 and 2024, and the 2021 Olympia Fields Country Club Fighting Illini Invitational), helped the Tar Heels qualify for match play at four consecutive NCAA Championships (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024), and broke Ryan Burnett's school record for career scoring average with a 71.04 average for his career.

Rose to as high as No. 4 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

Garnered two All-America honors, earning a second-team selection in 2024, and a third-team selection in 2023.

Earned four All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024), following Dustin Bray (2001-04) as the second player in program history to earn four All-ACC selections.

One of four amateurs to make the cut at the 2022 U.S. Open at The Country Club, which he earned an exemption for by virtue of his runner-up finish at the 2021 U.S. Amateur Championship. Previously missed the cut at the 2022 Masters Tournament, which he also gained entry to by virtue of his U.S. Amateur finish.

Runner-up finisher at the 2021 U.S. Amateur Championship at Oakmont Country Club, falling to James Piot in the championship match. Notably defeated Jacob Bridgeman in the Round of 16, Ross Steelman in the quarterfinals, and Travis Vick in the semifinals.

Won the 2022 Western Amateur at Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park, Illinois, defeating Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira (1 up) in the championship match. Also defeated William Mouw (semifinals), Kelly Chinn (quarterfinals), and Matthis Besard (Round of 16) en route to the title.

Fell to Michael Thorbjornsen in the semifinals of the 2021 Western Amateur at Glen View Club in Golf, Illinois. Reached the semifinals with victories over Trent Phillips (Round of 16) and Brian Stark (quarterfinals).

Represented the United States at the 2023 Walker Cup, 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup, and 2022 World Amateur Team Championship (Eisenhower Trophy).

Finished third individually (behind medalist Tobia Jonsson and runner-up Taiga Semikawa) and helped the United States finish third as a team at the 2022 World Amateur Team Championship (Eisenhower Trophy), contested at Le Golf National in France. The only Tar Heels player who previously competed in the event was John Inman in 1984.

Finished with a 1-2 record at the 2023 Walker Cup, helping the United States win the event at the Old Course at St. Andrews. Along with UNC teammates David Ford and Dylan Menante, became the first Tar Heels player to compete at the Walker Cup since Tom Scherrer in 1991.

Posted a 1-1-2 record at the 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, helping the United States earn a victory over Team International. He and UNC teammate David Ford were the first Tar Heels to compete in the event since Dustin Bray in 2003.

Reached the Round of 32 at the 2023 U.S. Amateur Championship at Cherry Hills Country Club.

Won the 2020 Ohio Amateur Championship at Columbus Country Club by eight strokes. Past winners of the event include Ben Curtis (1999, 2000), John Cook (1978, 1979), and Arnold Palmer (1953, 1954).

Quarterfinalist at the 2019 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. Eliminated in the quarterfinals by Preston Summerhays, who went on to win the title.

Won the 2018 Justin Thomas Junior Championship, an AGJA event contested at Harmony Landing Country Club in Goshen, Kentucky.
