Personal
Primarily a self-taught player who analyzed videos of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy on YouTube to develop his own ball striking.
As a young child in India, despite his father’s high-rise office overlooking a golf course, the family had no association with the sport. Around the time Sudarshan was four years old, the family emigrated from India to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he got his start in golf playing with a plastic set of clubs and balls, hitting range balls with a rental set of clubs at a local golf dome, watching YouTube videos and golf on TV with his father, Suresh, and eventually attending a 10-day Future Links camp after receiving a junior set of clubs.
Later moved to the greater Toronto area, specifically Mississauga, Ontario, around the time he was 11 years old.
Eschewed college golf and turned professional at 19 years old; he was homeschooled and took a gap year prior to turning professional.
Attended the third and final rounds of the 2014 World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club. Made a point to follow Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Bubba Watson, and eventual champion Rory McIlroy.
Fan of Manchester United (Premier League Soccer) and the Winnipeg Jets (NHL hockey), though he freely admits he has no idea how to ice skate, let alone play hockey.
Amateur Highlights
Won the 2017 Ontario Men's Amateur at 16 years old.
