Father, Kevin, played college golf at Huntington College in Alabama, and went on to become the head professional at Indian Pines in Auburn, Alabama.
Was high school teammates with fellow Korn Ferry Tour member Davis Thompson at Lee-Scott Academy (Auburn, Alabama), as the two helped the team win six consecutive state titles (2012-17).
Played high school football, throwing for more than 1,400 yards and rushing for 1,100 yards during his final two years at Lee-Scott Academy, a small, private school in Alabama.
Amateur Highlights
In his final amateur and collegiate appearance, won the 2021 NCAA Championship individual title in May at Grayhawk GC outside Phoenix. Finished at 7-under to defeat China’s Bo Jin of Oklahoma State by a shot. Came from behind on the last day, trailing Jin by two strokes. Became only the second Clemson golfer to win the individual crown, joining Charles Warren from 1997.
Earned first-team All-American honors by both the Golf Coaches Association and Golfweek as a senior. Was an honorable mention All-American and a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference choice as a freshman. Earned that honor again as a senior. Was a Ping All-Region team member during three of his four seasons at Clemson.
His 71.04 career stroke average is third best in Clemson history.
