His father, Mitch, played college golf at Clemson University.

Teammates at Georgia with PGA TOUR winner Davis Thompson for his final four seasons (2017-21). Also played alongside Korn Ferry Tour Class of 2020-21 graduate Greyson Sigg for one season (2016-17).

Played collegiately for five seasons at University of Georgia (2016-21), garnering a 2019 All-SEC First Team laurel, and a 2018 All-SEC Second Team nod. He was also a team captain for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.

Qualified for five U.S. Amateur Championships (2016-20), with the highlight being a trip to the 2019 quarterfinals, where he fell to eventual champion Andy Ogletree.

Won the 2019 Players Amateur, which earned him an exemption into the PGA TOUR's 2020 RBC Heritage.

Qualified for the 2021 U.S. Open Championship at Torrey Pines as an amateur.
