Recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar and ranked second in his class of 344 students at Alamo Heights High School.
Has volunteered for the Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, the San Antonio Food bank and the Humane Society.
Younger brother, Mac, played collegiate golf at Southern Methodist University and finished in the top 15 of the inaugural PGA TOUR University Class of 2021.
Uncle, Todd Haney, played college baseball at Texas and went on to play professionally as an infielder for the Montreal Expos (1992), Chicago Cubs (1994-96), and New York Mets (1998).
Amateur Highlights
Played four seasons at Rice University (2014-18), winning three individual titles, with the crown jewel being medalist honors at the 2018 Conference USA Championship; he also earned a 2018 All-Conference USA First Team honor.
Won the 2018 Texas Amateur at Whispering Pines Golf Club, defeating Levi Valadez by three strokes.
In December 2017, while struggling with his putting, he started putting left-handed. He went on to win four titles after making the putting switch.
