Amateur Highlights

Played four seasons at University of Alabama (2017-21), earning 2021 All-Southeastern Conference First Team recognition and helping the Crimson Tide to a runner-up finish at the 2018 NCAA Championships; he was a freshman on a team which featured Davis Riley, Lee Hodges, and Davis Shore, which fell to an Oklahoma State team led by Viktor Hovland, Austin Eckroat, Matthew Wolff, and Kris Ventura (who beat Furr 3&2).

Competed in four U.S. Amateur Championships (2016, 2017, 2019, 2020), with his best showing coming in 2020 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, where he earned stroke play medalist honors off the strength of a competitive-course-record 9-under 62 on Bandon Trails; he fell to Harrison Ott in the Round of 32 of match play.

Won the 2018 Mississippi State Amateur, which qualified him for the 2018 Sanderson Farms Championship, where he missed the cut in his PGA TOUR debut.

Previously won the 2015 Mississippi State Amateur at age 16, making him the youngest winner in the 100-year history of the event.

Represented the United States at the 2016 Junior Ryder Cup; his teammates included Norman Xiong and Davis Shore.

Lost a sudden-death playoff to Brad Dalke en route to a runner-up finish at the 2015 Junior PGA Championship.
