Personal

Grew up in Brazil, where he only practiced golf once a week (usually Wednesdays for about an hour) at Sao Paulo GC until he moved to the United States, at age 15 and joined Club Med Academy in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Attended his first Club Med Academy camp at 12 years old, spending a month in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Biondi returned for another camp at age 13, then came back the following year at age 14 and spent six months at Club Med, after which he displayed significant improvement and played well enough that his parents gave their blessing for him to remain in the U.S. and pursue college golf.

Earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from University of Florida in fall 2022. Initially a management major, Biondi switched to finance, believing it would set him up for a better career if professional golf did not work out. Given Florida’s rigorous academic curriculum, Biondi’s academic advisor tried to steer him away from the finance program, as it was not something many student-athletes are able to handle given how challenging it is and the time commitments it requires.

Fluent in English, Portuguese (primary language), and Spanish.

Younger brother, Leonardo (goes by Leo), is a professional electronic sports gamer in the United States; he plays Rainbow Six and is under contract with a team – which has its own coach and data analysis specialist.

Played four and a half seasons at University of Florida (2019-23 -- redshirted spring 2019 after enrolling at the beginning of the semester), capping his career with individual and team national titles at the 2023 NCAA Championship, consecutive All-America First Team selections in 2022 and 2023, and a pair of All-Southeastern Conference accolades (First Team in 2022, Second Team in 2023).

Won the individual national title at the 2023 NCAA Championship with four consecutive rounds in the 60s at Grayhawk Golf Club’s Raptor Course in Scottsdale, Arizona (only player in the field to accomplish the feat); he trailed outright leader Ross Steelman (No. 4 finisher in PGA TOUR University Class of 2023) by six strokes entering the final round but carded a 3-under 67, making six birdies against a bogey and double bogey to win the title by one stroke.

Along with fellow PGA TOUR University Class of 2023 alums Ricky Castillo (No. 9) and Yuxin Lin (No. 10) [pronounced YOO-shin], led Florida to the team national title at the 2023 NCAA Championship, marking the Gators’ fifth national title (1968, 1973, 1993, 2001).

Went 2-1 in match play at the 2023 NCAA Championship, winning his semifinal and final matches; he delivered the national title-clinching point against Georgia Tech with a 1-up win which saw him take the lead with a birdie on the 17th hole.

Florida’s other two-time All-America First Team selections through the years were Matt Every (2004-06), Camilo Villegas (2001, 2002, 2004), Phil Hancock (1975, 1976), Gary Koch (1972-74), and Steve Melnyk (1968, 1969).

Qualified for his first U.S. Open before he qualified for his first U.S. Amateur Championship; he played at both events in summer 2022, earning the last U.S. Open berth from final qualifying in Jupiter, Florida, where he finished a stroke ahead of a group which included Rickie Fowler, Tom Lewis, and Matthias Schwab.

In his only U.S. Amateur Championship appearance (2022), shared co-medalist honors in stroke play with Michael Thorbjornsen, Luke Gutschewski, and Hugo Townsend. In match play, Biondi defeated Frankie Capan III in the Round of 64, but lost to eventual champion Sam Bennett in the Round of 32.
