Stands 6 feet, 8 inches tall, which is a common stature in the Lamprecht family. Christo’s grandfather also stood 6 feet, 8 inches, while his great grandfather was 7 feet tall. Lamprecht’s father, Christo Lamprecht Sr., is the shortest male family member of the last four generations at 6 feet, 4 inches.

Grew up playing primarily at Kingswood Golf Estate in his hometown of George, South Africa. Kingswood is a links course inspired by The Old Course at St. Andrews, and it claims to have the best greens in the area.

Lamprecht’s hometown of George is also home to Fancourt, which features three of the top courses in all of South Africa and was a frequent practice ground for him.

Upon entering high school, joined the Louis 57 Junior Golf Academy, which was founded by 2010 Open Championship winner Louis Oosthuizen. This gave Lamprecht access to Pinnacle Point Golf Club in Mossel Bay (just under 40 miles southwest of his hometown of George).

Amateur Highlights

Finished No. 2 in the 2024 PGA TOUR University Ranking after four seasons at Georgia Tech, earning Korn Ferry Tour membership for the remainder of the 2024 season, in addition to an exemption for Final Stage of 2024 PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry.

In June 2023, won The 128th Amateur Championship at Hillside Golf Club in England, defeating Switzerland's Ronan Kleu 3 and 2 in the championship match.

Reached No. 1 in World Amateur Golf Ranking for the first time in September 2023, becoming the first South African to reach No. 1. Held the No. 1 ranking for a total of 22 weeks prior to turning professional in June 2024.

Played four seasons at Georgia Tech (2021-24), earning two collegiate victories, garnering three All-America honors (First Team in 2023 and 2024, Third Team in 2022) and three All-Atlantic Coast Conference selections (2022, 2023, 2024), along with the 2024 ACC Player of the Year award.

Named the 2024 Byron Nelson Award winner, with the award annually recognizing the outstanding scholar-athlete of the year. The recipient, a graduating senior, is recognized for their achievement in the classroom, on the course, and in their community. Lamprecht graduated with honors with a bachelor's degree in business administration, in addition to volunteering for multiple Michael Isenhour Toy Drives with Georgia Tech Athletics.

Named the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year, becoming the first Yellow Jacket to win the award since Ollie Schniederjans (2014, 2015). Other Yellow Jackets to previously win the award were David Duval (1992, 1993), Stewart Cink (1995), Matt Kuchar (1998), and Bryce Molder (1999, 2000, 2001).

Won the 2017 South African Amateur Championship at age 16, becoming the youngest winner in the event's history (first contested in 1892).

As the only one of six amateurs to make the cut, earned low amateur honors at the 2023 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.

Reached the Round of 32 at the 2022 U.S. Amateur Championship at The Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey.

Represented South Africa at the 2022 and 2023 World Amateur Team Championship (Eisenhower Trophy), and represented the International Team at the 2022 and 2023 Arnold Palmer Cups, as well as the 2017 and 2019 Junior Presidents Cups.

Helped South Africa win the 2019 Toyota Junior World Cup in Japan, marking South Africa's first victory at the event since 2001, when Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel led the nation to victory.

At the 2017 Junior Presidents Cup, played under captain Trevor Immelman, and teammates included fellow countryman and future PGA TOUR winner Garrick Higgo.
