Amateur Highlights
Defeated Doc Redman in 22 holes to win the 2017 Western Amateur. Also earned medalist honors in the stroke play portion of the event.
Led the United States to victory at the 2017 Walker Cup, posting a 3-0-1 record, including two wins alongside multi-time PGA TOUR winner Collin Morikawa in foursomes.
Helped the United States win the 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup, posting a 2-1-1 record with two victories in singles, highlighted by an 8-and-7 rout of two-time Korn Ferry Tour winner Harry Hall.
Graduated high school a semester early and enrolled at University of Oregon for the second semester of the 2016-17 season; he debuted for the Ducks in January 2017 and turned professional following his sophomore season (2017-18).
Won the 2017-18 Fred Haskins and Jack Nicklaus (Division I) Awards, both of which are presented to the national player of the year, in addition to earning the program's seventh All-America First Team selection. The only other player in Oregon history to earn one of the three national player of the year awards prior to Xiong was Eugene Wong, who received the 2009-10 Jack Nicklaus (Division I) Award.
Despite only playing the second half of the 2016-17 season (debuted January 2017), earned the NCAA Division I Freshman of the Year Award and earned an All-America Second Team selection, along with Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and All-Pac-12 First Team honors.
Set school records for career wins (seven), career scoring average (69.91), and single-season scoring average (69.05 in 2017-18) -- all of which were previously established by PGA TOUR winner Aaron Wise. Also broke the school record for single-season wins (six in 2017-18), doubling the record previously established by Wise and PGA TOUR member Wyndham Clark.
Became the sixth player in Oregon history to earn multiple All-Pac-12 Conference First Team honors, joining Craig Griswold (1970, 1972-73), seven-time PGA TOUR winner Peter Jacobsen (1974-76), Brent Murray (1977-78), Daniel Miernicki (2010-12), and Eugene Wong (2010, 2012).
Helped Oregon win the 2017 Pac-12 Conference Championships and reach the match play final at the 2017 NCAA Championships, where the Ducks fell to Oklahoma.
At the 2017 U.S. Amateur, earned the No. 2 seed for match play but was defeated in the opening round.
