During the summer of 2017, won the Sunnehanna Amateur, shooting consecutive 65s over his final 36 holes after opening 68-69. Went on to defeat Collin Morikawa in a playoff. Final amateur title came at the Jones Up Invitational at Ocean Forest GC in Sea Island, Georgia.
