Born in Bangkok, Thailand, moved to Beijing, China in his early childhood, and moved back to Thailand for four years. Spent five years in Los Angeles, California (between ages of 8 and 13), and returned to Thailand until enrolling at Texas A&M University in 2021.

Amateur Highlights

Finished No. 6 in the 2025 PGA TOUR University Ranking (and moved up to No. 5 in the Eligibility Ranking after Josele Ballester declined membership), earning exempt membership on the Korn Ferry Tour for the remainder of the 2025 season (top 10 from 2025 PGA TOUR University Eligibility Ranking), as well as an exemption to Final Stage of 2025 PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry (top five from 2025 PGA TOUR University Eligibility Ranking).

Played four seasons at Texas A&M University (2021-25), where he earned four collegiate victories and finished solo second individually at the 2025 NCAA Championship.

Quarterfinalist at the 2024 U.S. Amateur Championship contested at Hazeltine National Golf Club.

Represented the International Team at the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup. Maichon notably defeated Auburn University’s Brendan Valdes, who finished No. 2 in the 2025 PGA TOUR University Ranking, in a singles match.

Represented the victorious Asia-Pacific team alongside Hiroshi Tai, the 2024 NCAA Championship individual medalist, at the 2025 Bonallack Trophy, a Ryder Cup-style competition played every two years which pits Europe against Asia-Pacific. Previous Asia-Pacific representatives in the Bonallack Trophy include Hideki Matsuyama (2012), Cameron Smith (2012), Min Woo Lee (2018), and Kevin Yu (2016).

Won the 2016 Junior World Championships (Boys 13-14 Division) at Torrey Pines, finishing one stroke ahead of future PGA TOUR winner Karl Vilips.
