Grew up playing Ice hockey and always wanted to play in the NHL. He had to stop playing due to injuries and was too small at age 14 which led to a career in golf.
Favorite athletes include professional hockey player Trevor Linden, and retired NFL kicker Adam Vinatieri
Earliest golf memory was attending the 2010 U.S. Senior Open (won by Bernhard Langer) at Sahalee with his dad. The first tee shot he saw was a 30-yard 3-wood that hit a tree. He remembers thinking to himself, "Wow. Pros hit bad shots?"
Always uses a special ball marker that his assistant coach got for his team before nationals during his senior year of college.

Amateur Highlights
Played four seasons at Chico State (also known as California State University-Chico), an NCAA Division II program, garnering three All-America honors (First Team in 2014 and 2016; Second Team in 2015), earning medalist honors at the 2015 California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships, and receiving the 2016 CCAA Player of the Year award
Helped Chico State reach the match play final at the 2016 NCAA Division II Championships
Represented the United States at the 2016 Arnold Palmer Cup in Formby, England; his teammates included Will Zalatoris, Doug Ghim, and Will Gordon
At the 2016 Arnold Palmer Cup, halved two singles matches with Adrian Meronk, and teamed with Will Gordon for foursomes and four-ball matches
Won the 2015 Oregon Amateur Championship, rallying from a 5-down deficit 13 holes into the 36-hole match to defeat future Korn Ferry Tour graduate Dylan Wu
Won the 2011 Oregon Junior Amateur following his junior season of high school
