Has two older brothers and played all sports growing up. Was obsessed with soccer and loved downhill skiing, which he was in the midst of Junior Olympic training when he walked away from skiing. Began focusing on golf at 13.

Is great at Scrabble.

Takes pride in penmanship and still writes in cursive.

Involved with The First Tee of the Golden Isles, supporting the local golf community in his current hometown of St. Simons.

Amateur Highlights

Played a season at the University of Michigan (2010-11) and transferred to University of Georgia for his final three seasons, joining the Bulldogs in January 2012 and completing his career at the 2014 NCAA Championships.

Earned 2014 All-America Second Team and 2014 All-Southeastern Conference First Team honors as a senior at Georgia.

Lone collegiate victory came at the 2013 Invitational at The Ocean Course in Kiawah, South Carolina.

Settled forT2 at the 2013 Southern Amateur, as he fell in a three-man playoff.

Won the 2010 Michigan Amateur Championship at Oakhurst Golf & Country Club roughly two months before his 19th birthday, becoming the third-youngest winner in the history of the event; he also won the 2010 Michigan Junior Amateur, making him the first player to win both titles in the same year.

Named Michigan's Mr. Golf by the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association in 2009 and 2010 while representing Petoskey High School.

Won the individual state title by four strokes at the 2010 MHSAA Division 2 Championship as a senior at Petoskey.

Made the cut at the 2007 Michigan Open at age 15, becoming the youngest player in history to make the cut at the state's most prestigious golf tournament.
