Amateur Highlights
Won the 2016 U.S. Amateur Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club in Michigan; he defeated Andrew Huseman in the Round of 64, Davis Riley in the Round of 32, Cameron Young in the Round of 16, Sahith Theegala in the quarterfinals, Nick Carlson in 21 holes in the semifinals, and Brad Dalke in the final.
In March 2017, rose to No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking; he turned professional a month later following a T46 at the Masters Tournament.
Won the 2016 Western Australian Open, an event sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia, as an amateur, becoming the third amateur since the start of 1976 to win the event as an amateur (previous: Stephen Leaney, 1991; Oliver Goss, 2012).
Won the 2016 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship by a stroke over Brett Coletta at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea.
Alongside Cam Davis and Harrison Endycott, led Australia to victory at the 2016 Eisenhower Trophy; he finished second to Davis in the individual competition.
Won the 2014 Western Australia Amateur, defeating Cam Davis in the final; he also finished runner-up at the Australian Amateur in 2014.
