His father, Buddy Alexander, won the 1986 U.S. Amateur Championship and coached the Florida Gators golf team for 27 years, winning the NCAA Division I Championship in 1993 and 2001.
His grandfather, Skip Alexander, played on the 1949 and 1951 Ryder Cup teams and also won three times on the PGA TOUR. His career was cut short due to a plane crash where he was the only survivor.

Two of his favorite courses are Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland, where he helped the United States win the 2010 Arnold Palmer Cup, and Point O’ Woods Golf and Country Club in Benton Harbor, Michigan, where he was a quarterfinalist in the 2007 Western Amateur.
Played basketball in high school.
Some of his favorite recent television series were Ozark, Succession, and Yellowstone.
Amateur Highlights
Played collegiately for four seasons at University of Florida (2006-10), where his father, Buddy Alexander, was the head coach for 27 seasons (1988-2014). Earned 2010 All-Southeastern Conference First Team and All-America Honorable Mention recognition as a senior, played on the 2010 Arnold Palmer Cup team, and won one collegiate event in addition to back-to-back wins at the 2009 and 2010 Azalea Invitational.
Also a two-time Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll qualifier at Florida in 2008 and 2009.
Played in four U.S. Amateur Championships, appearing for the first time as a 16-year-old in 2004 at Winged Foot Golf Club. Also qualified in 2007 (The Olympic Club), 2008 (Pinehurst), and 2009 (Southern Hills Country Club). The only time he qualified for match play was 2009, and he was defeated by eventual runner-up Ben Martin in a first-round match which went 21 holes.
One of three third-generation U.S. Open participants in history (as of 2021 U.S. Open), following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Skip Alexander, and his father, Buddy Alexander, when he qualified via the Orlando, Florida sectional in 2009.
