Personal
Played baseball through high school; his notable achievements included winning the California Babe Ruth State Championship Game (15-year-old Division) in which he pitched seven innings, only allowed one run, and recorded the game-winning hit in extra innings. Levin also pitched and played second base on the freshman and junior varsity teams at Elk Grove High School.
Got started in golf through his father, Don Levin, who made 45 PGA TOUR starts from 1981-1983 and played two full seasons on TOUR (1981 and 1982). Don was a three-time All-American golfer at San Jose State University (according to The Big West Conference, a second team selection in 1977 and 1978, as well as a third team honoree in 1979); his career-high finish on TOUR was T6 at the 1981 Valero Texas Open.
