Of his family, he says, "My parents got their college degrees when they were in their 50's. I'm pretty proud of them for that."
Aspirations outside of golf include teaching golf, and doing something golf-related with his writing ability.
Describes his earliest memory in golf as follows. "My parents and I went to the Memorial one year to watch Tiger Woods play golf. On the 11th hole, which is a par 5, Tiger pushed his drive way right and hit my mom in the back. He walked over to my mom and shook her hand. We all got a kick out of it."
Superstition on the course includes always having quarters in his pockets to mark his ball.
Amateur Highlights
Won Big Ten Championship by 11 strokes in 2004. Scholar Athlete award all four years at Ohio State.
