Having grown up in Brookline, Mass., and still living in Boston (just a couple of blocks from the site of the 2013 Boston marathon bombings), formed "Birdies for Boston" and pledged $1,000 for each birdie he made at various PGA TOUR events in 2013 to The One Fund.
Is the youngest of seven children.
Enjoys live music, yoga, boxing, surfing, fitness, reading and Boston sports.
Amateur Highlights
Won a number of men's amateur events throughout the country, including the New England Amateur and the North and South Amateur before turning pro in 2001.
Three-time All-American at Virginia.
Recorded 23 career top-10 finishes for the Cavaliers.
Winner of the 1998 Golf Digest Invitational.
Runner-up to Jeff Quinney at the U.S. Amateur in 2000.
Runner-up finish got him into the field of the 2001 Masters, where rounds of 68-78 led to a missed cut by one shot.
His opening-round, 4-under-par 68 included just 23 putts and was the best first-round amateur score since 1983.
Member of the United States Walker Cup team in 2001.
American Junior Golf Association first-team All-America selection.
