Supports the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research, as his oldest daughter, Winnie, was born with the rare genetic diagnosis. Prader-Willi Syndrome is recognized as the most common genetic cause of life-threatening childhood obesity because it creates dysfunction of a portion of the brain (hypothalamus) which plays a crucial role in many bodily functions, including regulating hunger and satiety, body temperature, pain, sleep-wake balance, fluid balance, and emotions. David and his wife, Ginny, are committed to creating the best environment for Winnie and other children and families living with PWS.
Met his wife, Ginny, at University of Tennessee, where she played on the women's golf team for four seasons (2006-10); she also turned professional in 2011 and played on the Epson Tour and Ladies European Tour.
Loves cooking, grilling, smoking meats and barbecuing; he also enjoys going to live music shows with his wife and friends, as well as listening to podcasts from interesting people.
Favorite TV show is Ted Lasso.
First event he ever attended was the 2001 PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club, when David Toms defeated Phil Mickelson; he watched Toms sink the putt on No. 18 and "knew 100 percent at that moment I wanted to play on the PGA TOUR."
Favorite sports teams are the Nashville Predators (NHL) and Tennessee Volunteers athletics, and his favorite athlete is Peyton Manning.
