Ryan Gerard runs away from the field to win 2024 BMW Charity Pro-Am

    This week marks the 33rd playing of the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX, and the 17th year with Thornblade Club as the host course. First held in 1992, the tournament adopted its current pro-am format in 2001 and is proudly celebrating the 25th anniversary of the BMW Charity Pro-Am this year.

    Notable celebrities this year include former professional soccer player Clint Dempsey, Super Bowl XLVIII winner Jermaine Kearse, former NFL quarterbacks Ryan Leaf and Vince Young, two-time Olympic medalist Jagger Eaton, actors Brian Baumgartner, Andy Buckley and Ross Butler, as well as creators Grant Horvat and Hally Leadbetter.

    Seven of the top 10 finishers from the 2025 PGA TOUR University Ranking will make their Korn Ferry Tour debuts this week at the BMW Charity Pro-Am: No. 2 Brendan Valdes (Auburn), No. 3 Ian Gilligan (Florida), No. 4 Jackson Van Paris (Vanderbilt), No. 5 Phichaksn Maichon (Texas A&M), No. 6 Preston Summerhays (Arizona State), No. 7 Sebastian Moss (Louisville) and No. 8 Omar Morales (UCLA).

    All four rounds of competition will air on Golf Channel.

    • Thursday: noon-3 p.m. (live)
    • Friday: 9-11 p.m. (taped)
    • Saturday: 5-7 p.m. (live)
    • Sunday: 4 p.m. - end (live), 6:15-7 p.m. (re-air)

    More tournament storylines

    • Field includes 20 PGA TOUR winners with 43 career victories, highlighted by sponsor exemption Bill Haas with six PGA TOUR titles.
    • Field includes 55 Korn Ferry Tour winners with 91 career victories, led by Chesson Hadley and Robby Shelton with four wins each.
    • Adrien Dumont de Chassart, who won in his professional debut at the 2023 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX, is one of five past chamipions of the event in the field: Robby Shelton (2022), Rhein Gibson (2019), Richy Werenski (2016), and Jonathan Byrd (2001).
    • Six players in this week’s field are in the top 200 of the Official World Golf Ranking: S.H. Kim (No. 118), Kensei Hirata (No. 128), Neal Shipley (No. 140), Pierceson Coody (No. 147), Hank Lebioda (No. 161) and Trace Crowe (No. 169).
    • Twelve players in this week's field played collegiate golf in the state of South Carolina:
      • Clemson (six): Kyle Cottam, Billy Kennerly, Bryson Nimmer, and Doc Redman, in addition to sponsor exemptions Jonathan Byrd and William Nottingham
      • South Carolina (three): Ryan Hall, Keenan Huskey, and Matt NeSmith
      • South Carolina Aiken (two): Matt Atkins and Roberto Diaz
      • Wofford (one): William McGirt
    • Greenville native and winner of last week's UNC Health Championship presented by STITCH, Trace Crowe, is one of three players born in the Greenville-Spartanburg area in the field this week: Keenan Huskey (Greenville) and Trent Phillips (Spartanburg).
    • Last time: Ryan Gerard won the 2024 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX to claim his first Korn Ferry Tour title, winning by six strokes and tying the largest margin of victory in event history. The victory was the first of four top-10s that season for Gerard, who ultimately finished No. 12 on the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour Points List and earned PGA TOUR membership for the 2025 season (top 30 from 2024 Points List).
