The 2025 Korn Ferry Tour season officially tees off with the inaugural The Bahamas Golf Classic at Atlantis Paradise Island beginning Sunday, Jan. 12. The 2025 Korn Ferry Tour season, the 35th in the Tour’s history, will feature nine televised events on Golf Channel, starting with The Bahamas Golf Classic, hosted at the picturesque Ocean Club Golf Course at Atlantis Paradise Island.
This season will see a new Korn Ferry Tour Finals schedule and an additional international event in Mexico (PGA Riviera Maya Championship). In total, this season features 26 tournaments across seven countries and 17 states.
This week's debut promises to be a thrilling jumpstart to the new year, displaying the rising talent of the Korn Ferry Tour in a beautiful setting to begin the season-long race for 20 PGA TOUR cards, reduced from 30 in 2024.
The Ocean Club Golf Course, located on Paradise Island, New Providence, Bahamas, is known for its challenging design, pristine condition and breathtaking panoramic views. The Tom Weiskopf design sits at 7,118 yards and hosts the White Sands Bahamas Men’s & Women’s NCAA Golf Invitational (2019-present) and previously the LPGA Pure Silk Invitational (2012-2018). This year marks the first time The Bahamas Golf Classic is being held at this location, with the previous seven iterations of the event contested at Sandals Emerald Bay Golf Club in Great Exuma, The Bahamas.
Seven players who finished inside the top 10 of The Bahamas Golf Classic at Atlantis Paradise Island 2024 went on to secure their PGA TOUR cards for the 2025 season: Jeremy Paul (first), Kevin Roy (second), Cristobal Del Solar (third), Max McGreevy (sixth), Noah Goodwin (T7), Mason Andersen (T7) and Quade Cummins (T7).
The field for The Bahamas Golf Classic includes a mix of seasoned professionals up against rising stars, with a notable crop joining the Korn Ferry Tour from PGA TOUR Americas.
- The field features 49 Korn Ferry Tour winners like past champions Zecheng Dou (2019) and Tommy Gainey (2020), with 74 total victories, led by Robby Shelton with four wins.
- S.H. Kim (No. 182) is the highest-ranked player in the Official World Golf Ranking in this week’s field. Pierceson Coody (No. 195) is the only other player inside the top 200 of the OWGR.
- Seven finishers from the PGA TOUR University Class of 2024 are in the field: Christo Lamprecht (No. 2), Austin Greaser (No. 3), Nick Gabrelcik (No. 5), Cole Sherwood (No. 7), Jonas Baumgartner (No. 16), Petr Hruby (No. 21), and Johnny Keefer (No. 25).
- Notable players from PGA TOUR Americas to watch include Keefer, winner of the 2024 Fortinet Cup, and Matthew Anderson, the first Canadian to win on PGA TOUR Americas.
