Simmons Bank Championship wins President’s Award
In its second year, the Simmons Bank Championship, held at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock, Arkansas, was awarded the prestigious President’s Award, recognizing not only the criteria of all PGA TOUR Champions awards but also the unique qualities that make the tournament exceptional.
In 2025, the Simmons Bank Championship was a success in all aspects of how PGA TOUR Champions tournaments are measured. Highlights include:
- Simmons Bank Executives serve on the tournament board and are active year-round. Chief Community Banking Officer Freddie Black serves as tournament chairman working side-by-side with the tournament team, which delivers some of the strongest title sponsor integration on Tour.
- Driven by an engaged presenting sponsor Stephens Financial and numerous community partners, the tournament surpassed $5.3 million in local revenue.
- Following last year's nomination as the Player's Award winner, the tournament was a finalist again this year demonstrating their continued focus on player and caddie hospitality. Highlights include:
- Lexus premium courtesy cars, a private player/family dinner on Friday evening at a local steakhouse, and a special outing for player wives.
- New this year, the tournament hosted a Tuesday night Caddie Shootout under the lights – a two-man alternate shot event with 34 caddies competing.
- Additionally, all caddies in the field received complimentary hotels for the week and a private dinner on Saturday evening.
- In just two years, the Simmons Bank Championship has quickly become a “can’t-miss” community event for the city of Little Rock and the state of Arkansas. The tournament has welcomed numerous state dignitaries and celebrities, and each year has featured a special address from Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Supported by more than 900 dedicated volunteers, the event continues to see exceptional participation from club members and impressive community and fan attendance.
- The buildout around the property was best in class, beginning with the entrance and extending to hospitality and fan enhancements around the course. Viewing areas for fans were extensive, including numerous public options and dedicated kids’ viewing areas, all of which enhanced the playoff atmosphere of the event.
- Pleasant Valley Country Club again was incredibly welcoming to players and caddies. The clubhouse, first-class locker rooms and excellent food were all complemented by an attentive staff, and players continue to praise the quality of the golf course, ranking it as one of the top venues on PGA TOUR Champions.
