The Dominion Energy Charity Classic is the first of three Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs events. After this week, the top 54 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings will advance to next week's Simmons Bank Championship. After that event, the top 36 in the standings will advance to the Charles Schwab Cup Championship (Nov. 13-16).

Notables in this week's field include two-time champion (2017, 2021) Bernhard Langer, 2022 winner Steven Alker, 2019 champion Miguel Angel Jimenez and World Golf Hall of Fame member Ernie Els.
