KA'UPULEHU-KONA, Hawaii, and Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. – Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. (NYSE: MIELY) and PGA TOUR Champions on Thursday announced a five-year partnership extension, with both the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai and the Mitsubishi Electric Classic continuing through 2030. This extension also continues Mitsubishi Electric’s role as an Official Marketing Partner of the PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions.

“PGA TOUR Champions is proud to continue building upon our wonderful partnership with Mitsubishi Electric, which dates more than 15 years. The success of both tournaments is a testament to the shared values and vision between our organizations,” said PGA TOUR Champions President Miller Brady “Everyone involved in our Tour looks forward to starting the season at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai each year—with exceptional hospitality at a breathtaking course providing the perfect start to the year—while the Mitsubishi Electric Classic at TPC Sugarloaf has proven to be a premier event on our schedule, showcasing top-tier competition and community engagement. We are incredibly grateful for the fantastic relationship that we have had with Mitsubishi Electric and look forward to an even brighter future together.”

“We’ve built a strong relationship with the PGA TOUR for more than 15 years and are thrilled to continue as title sponsor of two events on the Champions Tour,” said Mike Corbo, president and CEO, Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. “The sponsorship has been a success not only with our customers and businesses, but with the charitable causes which the tournaments support. It is a great honor to be able to continue our commitment to the communities where our tournaments are held.”

Mitsubishi Electric has served as the title sponsor of the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai since 2009 and as title sponsor of the Mitsubishi Electric Classic since 2016. The company’s Official Marketing Partnership with the PGA TOUR – inclusive of the Official Large Outdoor Video Display Provider, Official HVAC Products and Official Elevators and Escalators – began in 2007. Mitsubishi Electric recently increased its involvement with PGA TOUR Champions by building 12 new Diamond Vision LED boards. The Diamond Vision boards – which are currently featured at more than 75 PGA TOUR-sanctioned events – have significantly enhanced the on-site fan experience through a variety of videos as well as an array of player and course information and graphics generated by the TOUR's real-time scoring system.

The Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai has been held at the Hualalai Golf Course on Kaʻupulehu-Kona, Hawaii, since 1997, ranking among the longest-serving host courses on PGA TOUR Champions. The limited-field tournament features winners of PGA TOUR Champions major championships in the last five years; the last five Charles Schwab Cup Champions; winners of PGA TOUR Champions co-sponsored events in the past two years; eligible members of the World Golf Hall of Fame; and select sponsor exemptions.

"On behalf of everyone at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, we are delighted that Mitsubishi Electric and PGA TOUR Champions are extending their partnership,” said Four Seasons Resort Hualalai Regional Vice President & General Manager Charlie Parker. “We’ve had the distinct pleasure of hosting the PGA TOUR Champions’ season opening tournament for more than 25 years, with the best golfers in the world showcasing our beautiful resort and all that Hualalai has to offer. Hosting this tournament each year is a true pleasure, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric, providing an exceptional experience for all who attend the event.”

The 2025 PGA TOUR Champions season begins with the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai on Thursday. Defending champion and reigning Charles Schwab Cup winner Steven Alker looks to retain his title against a star-studded field.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Mitsubishi Electric,” said Mitsubishi Electric Classic Executive Director Monte Ortel. “Their commitment to our event and the community has been unwavering, and this extension allows us to build on the success we've achieved together. The Mitsubishi Electric Classic has featured incredible golf while making a tremendous impact in Gwinnett County and we look forward to many more years of entertaining fans and making a difference in this community.”

Later this season, PGA TOUR Champions will return to Duluth, Georgia, for the Mitsubishi Electric Classic at TPC Sugarloaf. Stephen Ames won the Mitsubishi Electric Classic each of the past two seasons and looks to join Padraig Harrington (DICK’S Open) and Steve Stricker (Sanford International) as recent Champions Tour players to successfully win an event in three consecutive seasons. This year’s Mitsubishi Electric Classic will be contested the week of April 21-27.
