Played four years of college golf at Davidson College in his native North Carolina before transferring as a graduate student to the University of Santa Clara in California.

Was in the same graduating class from Davidson College as Stephen Curry. Missed graduation to compete with team at 2022 NCAA Regionals in Florida. Curry also missed the ceremony. Both student-athletes received a shoutout from the school president at commencement.
