    Through PGA TOUR University Accelerated, a high-achieving junior, sophomore or freshman can earn PGA TOUR membership and become eligible for all open, full-field TOUR events. Players earn points based on their accomplishments in college, amateur and professional golf, and they will earn PGA TOUR membership if they amass at least 20 points by the end of their third year of NCAA eligibility.

    Accelerated Points can be earned through the following achievements:

    20 points – Gordon Sargent, Vanderbilt (Class of 2025)

    Vanderbilt senior Gordon Sargent earned his 20th point at the 2023 World Amateur Team Championships to become the first player to earn PGA TOUR membership via PGA TOUR University Accelerated. Though he was eligible to accept membership as soon as June 2024, Sargent opted to return to Vanderbilt for his senior season and may accept membership following the conclusion of stroke play at the 2025 NCAA D-I National Championship (May 23-26).

    As a PGA TOUR member, Sargent will be eligible for open, full-field events for the remainder of the 2025 season, including FedExCup Fall, and he also will be a PGA TOUR member for the 2026 season (subject to reshuffles).
