FEDEXCUP: Winner receives 500 FedExCup points
COURSE: The Renaissance Club, par 70, 7,282 yards. This will be the seventh edition of the Genesis Scottish Open hosted at the Tom Doak design, which opened in 2007, and is located between North Berwick and Muirfield. The 18 holes of the Renaissance Club were carved out of 300 acres of pine forest but kept a number of trees in strategic fairway and greenside positions. Five years after the course opened, a land swap arrangement with The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers (Muirfield) allowed the club to build three new holes along the coastline.
72-HOLE RECORD: 262, Bernd Wiesberger (2019), Robert MacIntyre (2024)
18-HOLE RECORD: 61, Bernd Wiesberger (Round 2, 2019), Byeong Hun An (Round 1, 2023), Richard Mansell (final round, 2024)
LAST TIME: What a tremendous finish it was. After being denied the home-open title the year prior by Rory McIlroy, Robert MacIntyre came from three shots back on the back nine, and after a closing birdie, won by one over Adam Scott. The back-nine charge really kicked into high gear when MacIntyre roasted his approach from 247 yards in the rough on the par-5 16th to just 6 feet to set up a late eagle. In the process, MacIntyre became the first Scottish winner of the Genesis Scottish Open in the Rolex Series era – much to the delight of the home-country crowd. France’s Romain Langasque finished solo third while defending champion Rory McIlroy was part of a six-way tie for fourth.
