Earned the nickname "Cardboard" for the dark-khaki pants selection he wore for numerous appearances on Bryan Bros Golf episodes on YouTube.

Played four seasons at University of South Carolina (2015-19), earning a 2019 All-America Third team selection, two All-Southeastern Conference selections (First Team in 2019, Second Team in 2017), and All-America Scholar recognition in 2018 and 2019

Upon exhausting his eligibility at South Carolina, held the school record for career scoring average (71.57)

Qualified for the 2017 U.S. Amateur Championship at Riviera CC but did not qualify for match play.
