Personal

PGA of America member and golf instructor at Split Rail Golf Links in Aledo, Texas.

Before golf, he raced motocross for a few years. Grew up playing football, basketball, soccer, racing and always wanted to be a professional athlete. He was also home schooled.

Got his first set of clubs three years before college.

Earliest golf memory is finding his dad's old clubs in the shed and hitting a plastic ball in the backyard around the time he was 12 years old.

He also remembers playing golf with his grandparents and uncles during visits to Michigan. He always begged them to keep playing.

Has worked as a welder, valet, and (in college) at a call center completing insurance satisfaction surveys.

Remembers attending the AT&T Byron Nelson with his dad and was impressed by the way Davis Love III walked. Remembers seeing Jimmy Walker striping it on the range.

Favorite pro sports teams are the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks, while his favorite college team is the University of Michigan.

Loves a good, fun hat.

Brother, Mitchell, was a Texas Mixed Martial Arts title belt holder in 2008.

He and his parents met his wife and her family during a golf tournament in 2009 in California. The trip was the first time his parents flew on a plane and his first trip to California.

Amateur Highlights

Played a season at LeTourneau University (2008-09), a season at Louisiana Tech University (2009-10), and two seasons at Texas Wesleyan University (2010-12); he garnered a 2012 NAIA All-America Third Team selection at Texas Wesleyan.
