Even during a break in the schedule, PGA TOUR Americas members have plenty to play for.
After the conclusion of the Latin America Swing, the top 60 players retained their cards for the remainder of the 2025 season. In addition to those who solidified their schedules, a handful of new members from PGA TOUR University and PGA TOUR Americas Q-School will enter the fold. While plenty of those players will be starting their professional careers in Canada at the Explore NB Open, a handful just couldn’t wait until then.
This week on TOUR, six PGA TOUR Americas members will head to western Pennsylvania to compete in the 2025 U.S. Open. Let’s take a look at the players who will compete at Oakmont Country Club.
Philip Barbaree
Currently No. 26 in the Fortinet Cup, Barbaree finished the Latin America Swing with a T3 at the Inter Rapidisimo Golf Championship, eight days before earning co-medalist honors at Final Qualifying on June 2 in West Palm Beach, Florida. The LSU alum has made 15 starts on PGA TOUR Americas since 2024, with four top-25 finishes.
Jackson Buchanan
The No. 12 player from the 2025 PGA TOUR University Ranking will make his professional debut at Oakmont before making his first start on the PGA TOUR Americas at the Explore NB Open. Buchanan finished his collegiate career at Illinois this past May and was the recipient of the Byron Nelson Award as the scholar-athlete of the year.
Justin Hastings
The No. 13 player from the 2025 PGA TOUR University Ranking is in the field at Oakmont playing on the exemption he earned as the winner of the 2025 Latin America Amateur Championship. Hastings is expected to make his professional debut at the Commissionaires Ottawa Open presented by Lépine Apartments in July. Hastings has made three starts on TOUR this season, which included a T13 finish at the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld.
Chase Johnson
Johnson will make his U.S. Open debut after finishing the Latin America Swing as the No. 80 player in the Fortinet Cup. Johnson earned entry as an alternate on Monday, June 9, and will make his sixth start in a USGA championship. Johnson finished first in the APGA points list in 2024 to earn PGA TOUR Americas membership.
Riley Lewis
Lewis will make his major debut and second career start on TOUR after earning a place in the field via final qualifying. Lewis is currently No. 36 in the Fortinet Cup and has made eight starts on PGA TOUR Americas since 2024. The U.S. Open will be the second start on TOUR this season for Lewis, who was in the field for the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld.
Maxwell Moldovan
The No. 5 player in the Fortinet Cup earned his first professional win at the 70th ECP Brazil Open in April. Moldovan has experience at Oakmont, as he qualified for match play at the 2021 U.S. Amateur contested at Oakmont. Moldovan will make his fourth career start at the U.S. Open and previously qualified in 2022 (MC), 2023 (65th) and 2024 (MC).
