First Round of 69th ECP Brazil Open delayed due to inclement weather

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – The start of the opening round of the 69th ECP Brazil Open has been delayed due to inclement weather. Play was originally scheduled to start at 6:40 a.m. local time, but due to rainfall course conditions were deemed unplayable.
“We came into some rain when we first got here this morning,” said PGA TOUR Americas Chief Referee John Slater. “Unfortunately, the course didn’t take it well, so the current conditions are unplayable. Things are improving, so we are anticipating getting started later today.”
After course conditions were evaluated at 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., PGA TOUR Americas Rules Officials announced play will begin at 1:00 p.m. local time.
